… must .. re … de .. sign…

Time for a redesign. I know I’m never going to put anything in that programming page up top, simply because I’m not proud of many things I program. I need a silly page. I need to post my art. It’s sweeet. [’Sweeet’ pronounced with a nasal, spazzy voice.]

I was looking at a few random sites used by that crappy blogger service. I refuse to actually provide the link, but you can figure it out. It’s a good idea to let people have an easy way to keep journal stuff on their sites well organized and whatnot, but there are just too many things arising from the popularity of this service. Namely, people referring to my page as a “BlogŠ”. People who say that about this site can “Bite meŠ”. This is not a blog. This is a web log. This is a journal of random poop. NOT A BLOG.

Anyway, here are two turbo-crap .png images I made in my expired demo of paint shop pro, depicting how I see many of the pages listed on the blogger site.

I’ve been reading some of the web logs John links to (under diversions on his site). Mainly ooooooner and sa/leanne. It hurts my brain to think how they can type so much and not have their arms sheared off from too much air friction.

I dislike my Operating Systems teacher. I told myself I’d do the best possible - sit in front of the class, listen well, take notes, do work ahead of time. Bah, humbug. I do the projects as I should, but this homework is killing me. The grammar in this assignment screams “English as a second language.”

Most of modern operating systems are layer-structured and are based on the client/server model.

What major advantages that these characteristics, along with the client/server concept, can provide in helping the design of an operating system?

In what way that TCP/IP is fundamentally different from OSI?

I find the only way to understand the questions is to just read them really quickly, skipping over all articles, prepositions, and pronouns, and just guessing what the writer’s intent was. I don’t want to sound xenophobic, but one would think that a college professor in a state-run university would be able to speak English. Not true. I’m beginning to think that any software company could train me in what I need to know in under a year, straight out of high school. It’ll take me five years total (knock on wood) to get my Master’s degree. This is much faster than the average time to get a Master’s degree, but I don’t feel that I’m going to be any better off. I’m still going to somehow get a job, show up to the first day of work, look at what I need to do and not have any idea how to do that typey programmey computador thing-a-ma-jig. Me smartey Master degree happy guy. Me not lern nothing in school.

[insert insane screaming; more ranting here]

La la la. I can’t remember the last time I was tired and felt like going to sleep any time before about 3 AM. I do remember watching Star Trek:TNG at 11pm every night during high school, and being very tired. I miss the days of going to sleep before the sun comes up, sleeping deeply for 7 or 8 hours, then waking up rested, ready to face a new day.

I go to sleep (force myself to sleep out of boredom, not fatigue) around 3 or 4, maybe 5 every night. Then I sleep badly and wake up around noon or 1 pm, not feeling rested at all, not feeling any motivation to be productive.

… maybe I could hire somebody to come by every night around 10:30 and bonk me on the head with something really heavy. Then I wouldn’t have any problem sleeping.

I had an idea about creating a comic strip website today. It’d be fairly simple comics - no comic book type crap. I could write code to allow me to create daily comics only by filling in form data. It’d use SQL / PHP / HTML / SWF to do vector graphics crap. Basically, the end product would be a comic that had the visual variety of penny arcade. You know, character one on left, saying something, character two on right, saying something. Same exact characters for next frame, but they’re saying something else. I don’t know that it’d be worth the work, but I like looking at wacky stuff and knowing all the crap that makes it go. This is why I want to know how cars work and how to fix them. (I don’t want to learn that stuff, I just want to know it.)

Bored bored bored.

I promised myself I’d complete my Op Sys project before I went to sleep tonight, but it’s so [expletive deleted] easy, I don’t feel the need to waste any time on it. I swear I could do the whole thing in 30 lines of code or less.

So, here are some things I did today instead of doing the Java project:

-Went to a lease signing without signing a lease.
-Read a six page lease. *yawn*
-Watched ‘Sleepless in Seattle’
-Watched ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer’
(That makes six movies I have watched in the last 36 hours.)
-Converted about six CD’s from CD to MP3 format. I figure at least some of my collection should be legal.
-Read phpBuilder, which I haven’t been doing as much as I should.

Maybe, I’ll wait until I can’t think straight. Then at least this assignment would be challenging. Grr.
