Finally got something to replace my Voodoo3 2000 poop card. I got a GeForce2 MX 400 64MB card. It’s installed and working. It can do more in 2D than my Sony Trinitron monitor can display. Great. So, what can it do in 3D? Let’s play Black&White and find out. Oh, it doesn’t run. Well, it runs, then crashes. Something to do with copy protection. I purchased a legal copy of the game at Walmart. Maybe I should have bought the original burn of the game from EA. Would it work then?!? Gaaaaah! I REFUSE TO REBOOT INTO WIN98 TO PLAY A GAME THAT SHOULD BE DIRECTX COMPATIBLE.
Problem: I have owned Black & White since this summer. I have played it for maybe 20 hours total, not including the maybe 20 hours spent on reading discussion boards of other people bitching about how the game doesn’t work. Could I take it back to Walmart for a refund, claiming that Lionhead is just dangling a carrot in front of my face without any desire to fix their (now old) game?
